THE SILENT CRASH MEN FACE AFTER 40
While some dream of power, others sculpt their destiny through cells and time. Longevity is no longer a myth, but a quest where every choice can defy aging.

💪 Dear Wonderwomen and Supermen,
Did you know that 78% of adults don’t even meet the minimum physical activity recommendations? This number alone sums up a silent but devastating health crisis.
After 40, most men start losing muscle, energy, and mental clarity – but few understand why. It’s neither fate nor “just age,” but a matter of lifestyle.
In this issue, we break down the real reasons behind male decline after forty… and the concrete strategies to avoid it.
Read to the end — or share with someone who really needs to see this.
SPOTLIGHT
Forty often marks a silent biological turning point, especially for men. It’s not age itself, but chronic physical inactivity, lack of resistance training, and declining training intensity that trigger this “break” in body and mind. The situation is alarming: 78% of adults don’t move enough, and 50% do no regular training at all. This decline affects muscle mass, bone density, cognitive function, and even hormonal health. Fortunately, properly structured physical activity and muscle stimulation remain powerful levers of regeneration.
The details :
The real problem : a sedentary society : Most people don’t even meet the basic recommendations: 150 minutes of moderate to vigorous activity + 2 days of strength training per week. The result? Progressive muscle loss, increased visceral fat, and a higher risk of cognitive and metabolic decline. Sedentary living is now a silent pandemic.
Muscle resistance : the forgotten anti-aging secret : There are only two scientifically validated ways to stimulate muscle: resistance training and protein intake. And between the two, exercise remains the most decisive factor for preserving whole-body homeostasis. Eating a lot of protein without training? You’ll still lose muscle.
Intensity > Duration : It’s not age that makes you weaker, but the loss of intensity in your effort. Even short sessions (45–60 minutes), well structured, where the last reps are hard but done with good form, are enough to generate progress – even in people over 60.
Movement = Brain : Loss of mobility also affects the brain. The less we move, the more the brain atrophies. Studies show that a brain can literally begin to “self-digest” in the absence of prolonged movement. In active seniors (skiing, tennis, sprinting…), researchers observe exceptionally well-preserved cognitive function.
Muscle and hormones : the real dynamic : The drop in testosterone and estrogen plays a role, but it’s not the root cause. What really matters is mechanical stimulation. Even with moderate loads, the key is perceived effort. “Muscle quality” is still poorly defined in the literature, but consensus is evolving: size, function, and frequency of activation are all critical.
Key Takeaway :
Decline is not an inevitable consequence of age, but the direct result of a gradual disengagement from movement, resistance, and intensity. The longevity industry needs to rethink its priorities: instead of focusing exclusively on supplements or hormone treatments, we must put resistance training back at the core of any anti-aging strategy. It’s the pillar that conditions everything else — longevity, mental clarity, body composition, and quality of life. Real prevention starts with a barbell, a squat, and consistency.

HYPE OR FACT ?
💭NMN or NAD+ supplements extend human lifespan
❌ HYPE
To date, no rigorous clinical study has shown that NMN, NAD+, or their precursors significantly increase human lifespan. Most data come from animal models, mainly rodents, and their results cannot be directly extrapolated to humans. Professor Bruce Neal reminds us that “we would need well-designed trials proving concrete outcomes : fewer diseases, better physical function, longer life.” Those trials do not yet exist.
